My name is Mariela Roa. I am currently in 10th grade High School For Environmental Studies. I recently joined a media art program, where I’m hoping to learn about injustice issues and web design. The career interest I’m hoping to do in my future is science engineering and engineering. I’m hoping that what I do in the future will help these injustice issues but I’m also hoping to learn how to use the media for my own personal needs like if I want to make my own business. How would I create a website? How would I present my business? Stuff like that! Some things to know about me is I love to learn, I want to get the highest education I can, I'm debating if I want to stop at master's or go to Ph.D., I don’t really know yet. I like to keep my options open. I also really like animals, teddy bears, cute stuff and I like to consider myself childish but also responsible.

I am a 17-year-old illustrator and a photographer in my senior year of high school at the High School of Fashion Industries. Pursuing creativity has been something I've been interested in since childhood and I plan to continue that in my adult life.

Hey, my name is Yeasin Haque. I am a proud Bangladeshi-Bronx native. As I progressed and grew, my perspective of the world widened. With such a broad availability of resources, I was finally seeing the world from an outside view. A view of my people, community, culture, and me. It was also my first realization that I was part of many marginalized communities. The cause of these views ranges from stigmas to negative media characterization of my community and its environment. However, I wasn’t going to let that scare me. I realize that being from the Bronx along with the various communities I was a part of as a first-gen immigrant child, was not a burden but actually my biggest asset. I realized volunteering and providing my skills to movements, as well as attending programs where I was the only person from these communities and The Bronx, allowed me to represent the ones underrepresented. I do not see ethnicity, religion, or culture as a disadvantage for me. Using my photography, videography, and editing skills I wish to project and express dialogue in these issues through art in ways that words could not. I capture stories and ideas in my images while also learning so much from the people I am photographing and interviewing.

Hi, my name is Rozana Karim. Born in a beautiful and full of nature country Bangladesh. I moved to America almost 7 years ago, when I was 10, which now makes me 16, almost turning 17 on August 17. I admire doing everything, however, I like to spend my time in a peaceful way, I like to paint. Painting is so soothing and relaxing. I like doing makeup, it's a therapy time for me. It's almost like I am a canvas and I am creating art with makeup. I love to dance, growing up I used to do traditional dances in my country, however as I learned more about different types of dance, I got into hip hop. It makes me feel confident and strong somehow. The important things in my life, BUBBLE TEA AND CHICKEN SANDWICH. Even though I am not a mother, I am still a mother, because I have little siblings. My tiny baby bro is 1 year old and my sister is 10 years old. I want to protect them from all the obstacles they face. I actually can’t always protect them, so I aspire to teach them how they can keep themselves safe and empowered. I believe in believing. I believe patience is the biggest form of strength. I believe the smallest things bring the biggest joy. I believe there is no harm to have hopes and intentions.
